Terms of Service
1. Who We Are / Scope of Service
Civil Wedding Online (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an online facilitation service for the “US Civil Marriage Registration” package. We facilitate a lawful civil marriage solemnized in the State of Utah, USA, through a remote (online) ceremony conducted by an officiant physically located in the State of Utah, the issuance of the official Utah marriage certificate, and the apostille (authentication) of that certificate.
We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. Our service is administrative and facilitative only. You should seek independent legal counsel regarding your specific circumstances.
2. What the Service Does and Does Not Include
Our service is strictly limited to: (a) assistance in obtaining a Utah marriage license; (b) coordination of a Utah-based online marriage ceremony; (c) the resulting Utah marriage certificate; and (d) apostille of that certificate.
Our service does not include, and we do not guarantee, the registration, reporting, recognition, or acceptance of the marriage by the Republic of the Philippines (including any PSA Report of Marriage) or by any other country, authority, employer, or third party. Recognition abroad depends on foreign authorities and on your own circumstances and is outside our control.
3. Your Eligibility Warranties
By using the service, each party represents and warrants that:
- he or she is at least 18 years of age, and if between 18 and 21, has obtained any parental consent required by the law applicable to him or her;
- he or she is legally free to marry — single, or any prior marriage has been validly dissolved, annulled, or ended by death — and will truthfully disclose any prior marriage;
- he or she is of sound mind, acts of free will, and has full legal capacity to marry;
- the parties are not within any prohibited degree of relationship and are not under any legal impediment under the laws of the United States, the Republic of the Philippines, or any jurisdiction applicable to them;
- he or she is eligible to contract marriage and to have such marriage registered under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
4. Witnesses
You are responsible for providing the witnesses required for the ceremony — at least two (2) witnesses, each of legal age and competent — and for ensuring their attendance and participation in the online ceremony.
5. Truthful Declarations
You represent and warrant that all information, statements, and documents you provide are true, accurate, complete, current, and genuine, and that you will make a truthful declaration of intent during the ceremony. Submitting false, forged, or misleading information is a material breach and may void the service without refund, in addition to any legal consequences you may face.
6. Compliance with Law
You agree to comply with all applicable laws of the United States, the Republic of the Philippines, and any other relevant jurisdiction, including marriage, civil registration, and immigration laws. You are solely responsible for your own legal status, civil status records, and any reporting obligations in your home country.
7. No Guarantee of Foreign Recognition
You acknowledge that whether your marriage is recognized or registered in the Philippines or elsewhere depends on foreign authorities applying their own law to your facts, and that timelines and outcomes are not within our control and are not guaranteed by us.
8. Fees and Refunds
The package fee is USD $849, payable in advance. You may cancel and receive a full refund at any time before you submit your application. Once your application has been submitted, the fee is non-refundable, because processing with third parties and government authorities begins at that point.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for any act, delay, or decision of any government authority, officiant, or third party.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or liability arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misrepresentation, or your failure to meet the eligibility, witness, truthfulness, or legal-compliance requirements above.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above will reflect any changes. You can reach us through your personal account on this website.
