1. About Civil Wedding Online
Civil Wedding Online ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Atias & Co., a licensed law firm. We facilitate legal marriage registration for couples who wish to be married through the State of Utah's remote marriage program. The resulting marriage certificate is apostilled under the Hague Apostille Convention and recognized under Philippine Family Code Article 26.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, submitting an application, or making a payment, you ("Client," "you," or "your") agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services.
3. Eligibility Requirements
To use our services, both applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of marriage
- Be legally eligible to marry under the laws of Utah, USA (not currently married, not within prohibited degrees of consanguinity)
- Possess valid government-issued photo identification (passport)
- Be able to participate in a video ceremony via Zoom or equivalent platform
- Not be under any legal prohibition against marriage
Providing false information regarding eligibility may result in immediate cancellation without refund and potential legal consequences.
4. Description of Services
Our services include:
- Review and processing of your marriage application and supporting documents
- Identity verification coordination (KYC)
- Scheduling and facilitating a legal marriage ceremony via video conference
- Obtaining the official Utah State marriage certificate
- Obtaining the Hague Apostille certification for the marriage certificate
- Physical delivery of the apostilled certificate
- Guidance for subsequent PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) Report of Marriage (ROM) registration
We do not provide legal representation in Philippine proceedings, guarantee specific outcomes from PSA registration, or provide notarial services in the Philippines.
5. Fees and Payment
Service fees are as follows:
- Standard Processing: $849 USD (approximately ₱48,000 PHP) — estimated 4–6 weeks
- Expedited Processing: $849 USD (approximately ₱48,000 PHP) — estimated 2–3 weeks (ceremony held within days; documents processed separately)
All fees are payable in full prior to commencement of application processing. We accept GCash, Maya, major credit and debit cards, and bank transfer via PayMongo. Currency conversions are approximate and subject to prevailing exchange rates at the time of payment. All prices are quoted in USD and are inclusive of all service fees. Government fees, courier charges, and PSA registration fees are included.
6. Refund Policy
Before document review commences: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee.
After document review commences: 50% refund.
After identity verification (KYC) is completed: No refund.
After the marriage ceremony: No refund under any circumstances.
We are not responsible for refunds in cases where the application is rejected due to ineligibility, document fraud, or failure to appear at a scheduled ceremony. Processing fees are non-refundable once paid to third-party providers (government offices, apostille authorities, courier services).
7. Document Accuracy
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of all documents submitted. Submitting false, forged, or misleading documents is a criminal offense. We reserve the right to reject any application without refund if fraudulent documents are detected.
8. Processing Timeline
Processing timelines are estimates only and are not contractually guaranteed. Timelines may be affected by government processing delays, courier delays, public holidays, incomplete or inaccurate documents submitted by the client, or force majeure events. We will notify you promptly of any material delays.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Atias & Co. and Civil Wedding Online shall not be liable for: (a) indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; (b) loss of profits or business opportunities; (c) outcomes of PSA registration proceedings; (d) delays caused by third-party government agencies or courier services; (e) decisions of any court, tribunal, or government authority regarding recognition of your marriage.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
10. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on our website and application, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Atias & Co. or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Salt Lake City, Utah, conducted in English.
13. Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.
